Transportation Survey
The Cape Fear Commutes 2035 Transportation Plan will include extensive public participation. The committee drafting the plan has created a survey and plans to host open houses throughout area communities over the next month to receive citizen transportation recommendations. Residents of the Wilmington region will be able to offer their ideas by attending these meetings or completing the survey. Enthusiastic public participation is essential in preparing a realistic transportation plan. Meetings will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: May 11 – Cape Fear Community College, BB&T Auditorium; May 12 – Topsail High School; May 14 – New Hanover County Senior Center, Multi-purpose room; May 18 – Katie B. Hines Senior Center, Carolina Beach; May 19 – North Brunswick High School Cafeteria; and May 21 – Wilmington City Hall, Council Chambers.

This plan will look 25 years into the future and address a broad spectrum of transportation elements throughout the entire Cape Fear Region. Nothing will be off limits. The plan will include an examination and evaluation of potential highway, rail, transit, aviation, maritime and bicycle and pedestrian projects in New Hanover County and parts of Brunswick and Pender Counties.

All area transportation projects funded by the state or federal government must be included in the plan, which is updated every five years. The plan will look at the relationship between population growth and the transportation network. It will also look at impacts to quality of life, health and the environment.

Visit http://CapeFearCommutes.org for more information and to complete a transportation survey in English or Spanish.

Hazard Mitigation Plan Survey
We need your help!

Brunswick County is currently engaged in a planning process to become less vulnerable to natural disasters and your participation is important to us!

Brunswick County, participating local jurisdictions, and other participating partners are now working to prepare a Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. The purpose of the plan is to identify and assess our community's natural hazard risks and determine how to best minimize or manage those risks. Upon completion, the Plan will represent a comprehensive update to the Brunswick County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan that was last amended in 2005.

This survey questionnaire provides an opportunity for you to share your opinions and participate in the mitigation planning process. The information you provide will help us better understand your concerns and can lead to mitigation activities that should help lessen the impact of future hazard events.
